Uproar over drain construction and bulldozer action in Hamirpur: Scuffle between former SP chairperson and present BJP chairperson after heated argument.


A very shocking case of head-on clash between women leaders has come to light from Kurara Nagar Panchayat area of ​​Hamirpur district of Uttar Pradesh. A heated argument broke out between former Samajwadi Party (SP) chairperson Maya Valmiki and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) current chairperson Asha Rani Kabir regarding the ongoing drain construction and demolition done by bulldozers regarding the problem of waterlogging in ward number 9 of the town.

The altercation escalated so much that a scuffle and scuffle broke out between the two women representatives. The people present on the spot captured the video of this entire incident in their mobile cameras, which is now going viral on social media. After the incident, political and administrative tension has spread in the town.

According to local sources and developments, the dispute started over the direction of drain construction and removal of alleged encroachment in Ward No. 9 of Kurara Nagar Panchayat:

  • The current chairman had arrived to deal with waterlogging: Current BJP-backed chairperson Asha Rani had reached the spot with Kabir Nagar Panchayat employees and a bulldozer (JCB). He said that there was a problem of heavy waterlogging in the locality during the rainy season, about which local residents had complained. Construction work of drain was being done for water drainage.

  • Use of bulldozer near former chairman’s residence: During the construction work, a bulldozer was used to remove concrete structures coming under the drain, due to which the structures built in front of the former chairman’s house were affected.

Former SP chairperson Maya Valmiki has directly accused the current chairperson of taking action out of political rancor and vendetta:

  • Maya Valmiki alleges that the current chairman Asha Rani deliberately reached outside her house with a bulldozer and broke the safety railing under the house, due to which her house was also partially damaged.

  • He alleged that due to this vandalism, dirty rain water started entering his house.

  • The former Chairman claims that when he peacefully protested against the arbitrary demolition being carried out by the Junior Engineer (JE) and Chairman of the Nagar Panchayat, the present Chairman and his supporters abused him and pushed him to the ground.

On the other hand, BJP’s current chairperson Asha Rani Kabir has termed all the allegations of the former chairman as fabricated and baseless:

  • Asha Rani says that she had gone to inspect the drain construction for the convenience of the public on the invitation of the local people.

  • They allege that when the government work was going on, former chairman Maya Valmiki along with her family members and supporters came to the spot and tried to stop the government work by threatening and misbehaving with the employees.

  • The current chairman claimed that when he tried to explain, the former chairman became aggressive and attacked him and started a scuffle. He also said that since losing the civic elections, the former chairman has been trying to create hurdles in the development work of the town and to stoke enmity.

The police administration has swung into action after the video of the scuffle that broke out between women representatives belonging to two major political parties surfaced. Although no formal written complaint was given to the police station by either side immediately after the incident, the local police say that the situation is being closely monitored to maintain law and order in the town. Police officials say that the viral video is being investigated and if any party takes law into hands or files a complaint, legal action will be taken based on the evidence.
