UPESSC Teacher Recruitment 2026: Notification released for bumper recruitment on more than 15,000 teacher posts in UP, online applications started


Big news has come for lakhs of trained unemployed youth preparing for teacher recruitment in Uttar Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC), Prayagraj has released the total number of posts of Primary Assistant Teacher (PRT) and Lecturer (PGT). 15,012 posts But detailed notifications have been issued for recruitment. This is the first biggest joint teacher recruitment drive after the formation of the Commission, through which vacant posts will be filled in government and non-government aided schools of the Basic and Secondary Education Department.

Online application process for Primary Assistant Teacher (Advertisement No. 05/2026) under this recruitment Starting from 16th September has been done, whereas the registrations for the spokesperson cadre (Advt. No. 06/2026) are starting from 18th September. All applications are being accepted through One-Time Registration (OTR) on the official portal of the Commission, upessc.up.gov.in.

Candidates must complete the application process keeping in mind the deadlines:

  • Primary Teacher (PRT) Application Start: 16 September

  • PGT Application Start: 18 September

  • Last date for submission of application fee: 15 October (PRT) / 17 October (PGT)

  • Correction Window: By October 19 (PRT) / October 21 (PGT)

  • Proposed date of written examination:



  • Primary Assistant Teacher (PRT): Graduation degree with 50% marks from a recognized university with 2-year BTC (D.El.Ed./BTC) or 4-year B.El.Ed degree recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Along with this, it is mandatory to pass the Class 1 to 5 level Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET or CTET Paper-1) conducted by the Central or Uttar Pradesh Government.

  • Spokesperson (PGT): Master’s Degree in the relevant subject with minimum 50% marks and compulsorily B.Ed. (B.Ed.) degree (special qualifications prescribed for specific technical or sports subjects are applicable).

  • Age Limit: The minimum age has been fixed at 21 years and maximum age at 40 years (service rules apply till the retirement age of 62 years in affiliated primary and aided schools). Reserved categories (OBC, SC, ST) will be given relaxation in the upper age limit of 5 years and disabled people will be given 15 years relaxation as per the rules of the state government.

  • Primary Teacher (PRT): Selection will be based only on merit of written examination and document verification; There will be no interview in this.

  • Spokesperson (PGT): Selection will be done on the basis of total merit of 400 marks including written examination (360 marks) and interview (40 marks).

  • Question Paper Structure: In both the examinations, 120 multiple choice questions (MCQs) will be asked, which will be of total 360 marks (each question 3 marks). The duration of the exam will be 2 hours. There is a provision of negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in the examination.

Interested candidates will first have to complete their ‘One Time Registration’ (OTR) by visiting the official website of the Commission, upessc.up.gov.in. The main recruitment form cannot be filled without generating OTR. After OTR verification, candidates can make final submission by uploading their educational qualification, marks, reservation certificate and photo-signature and paying the prescribed fee (₹1,000 PRT and ₹1,500 PGT for General/OBC/EWS) online.
