UPA government caused damage to Shahpur-Kandi, Ujj projects in Kathua district – Dr. Jitendra

Kathua 01 April (HS). Dr Jitendra Singh, BJP candidate from Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency, said during the campaign that the UPA government has sabotaged the national level Shahpur-Kandi and Ujj multi-purpose projects in Kathua district to please its vote bank at the cost of vital interests.

Speaking at a series of public meetings in the hilly areas of Bani Billawar in Kathua district, Dr Jitendra Singh said that the most unfortunate thing is that the Congress MLAs and MPs representing this area for 10 years during the UPA regime never raised their voice because they were more eager to keep their Kashmir-centric masters happy. Dr Jitendra Singh said that someday some historians and analysts will try to find the answer to the question as to why the Congress-ruled governments at the Center and in the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir conspired together to put these two national projects on hold. Dr Jitendra Singh reminded that as per the Indus Water Treaty 1960, which was concluded by the Congress Government led by Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, it was decided that the three rivers Sutlej, Beas and Ravi would be India's share of water. But successive Congress governments including UPA did not follow the commitment made by their leader Nehru and Congress leaders of this region also did not raise their voice. He said it was only when Prime Minister Narendra Modi assumed power that the project was revived after almost 30 years and now the Shahpur-Kandi project is almost fully functional, while the Ujjain project is going to start soon, which was announced by the Water Shakti Minister also did it.

Dr Jitendra Singh said it is also important to vote for Modi and the NDA government to avoid a repeat of the era of appeasement and regional discrimination, which the entire belt of Kathua and Billawar had to endure for six decades. Appealing for more than 400 votes for Modi and BJP, Dr. Jitendra Singh said, no matter what the Congress leaders say on the surface, at heart they are aware that their workers and relatives are also only for Modi. Are going to vote. Senior BJP leader Satish Sharma, BJP Hill District President Darshan Singh, BJYM President Udit Sharma, DDC members and PRIs and others accompanied Dr Jitendra Singh during the visit.
