Allahabad High Court had ordered to publish new merit list

The Supreme Court has asked the state government and both the parties to submit written arguments. Time is needed to study the decision of the High Court. In its decision, the Allahabad High Court canceled the selection lists of June 2020 and January 2022 and ordered the UP government to release a new selection list of 69 thousand teachers within three months on the basis of the assistant teacher recruitment examination held in 2019.

Teachers are afraid of losing their jobs

The High Court also said that if a reserved category candidate attains the same qualification as the general category, then his selection should be considered in the general category only. Due to this order of the High Court, a large number of teachers working in UP are likely to lose their jobs.

Lucknow Bench of High Court gave this order

Last month, the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court ordered the UP government to release a new merit list for recruitment within three months. During the hearing, the High Court admitted that the candidates were not given the full benefit of reservation in the 69000 teacher recruitment. On Monday, senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi appeared before the CJI bench on behalf of petitioner Shivam.

Injustice in teacher recruitment: Anupriya Patel

The government is facing opposition and protest from allies over the recruitment of 69 thousand teachers. National President of NDA ally Apna Dal (S), Anupriya Patel, recently said that OBC candidates have been treated unfairly in teacher recruitment. Reservation rules have been violated.
