UP Weather Alert: Weather will change before the departure of monsoon in UP! Somewhere there will be rain with thunder and somewhere there will be sticky humidity, know the condition of your district

Monsoon is now moving towards its last stop in Uttar Pradesh. On one hand, the sound of clouds’ departure has started in the middle of September, on the other hand, due to the weather system and moisture being formed at the local level, a dual form of weather is being seen in the entire state. In major cities like Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Meerut, Prayagraj and Gorakhpur, people are sometimes getting relief from sudden gathering clouds and strong winds, and sometimes as soon as the sun comes out, they are suffering from heavy sticky humidity due to the humidity reaching 80 to 90 percent. According to the Lucknow Center of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), sporadic rain and thundershowers may continue in different parts of the state for the next two to three days, after which the monsoon will gradually begin to disappear completely.

According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, due to the influence of the moist winds coming from the Bay of Bengal and the effect of the trough line, rainfall activities are likely to be more active in eastern Uttar Pradesh and the Terai districts adjacent to Nepal.

  • Terai Belt: There are chances of light to moderate showers with movement of dense clouds in the areas of Lakhimpur Kheri, Bahraich, Shravasti, Balrampur, Siddharthnagar and Maharajganj.

  • Districts of Purvanchal: Gorakhpur, Deoria, Kushinagar, Mau, Ballia, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Jaunpur and surrounding areas of Varanasi may witness intermittent rain and thundershowers.

  • Vindhya region: Due to the formation of local thunderstorm in the plateau areas of Sonbhadra, Mirzapur and Chandauli, heavy rain with strong winds is expected for some time.

Due to rain in these areas, there will be an immediate drop of 2 to 3 degrees in temperature, due to which people will feel relief from the heat.

Unlike eastern UP, rainfall intensity is expected to be much less over western Uttar Pradesh and most parts of Bundelkhand. Due to increase in westerly dryness in the air and thinning of clouds, strong sunlight will trouble people in these areas:

  • Delhi-NCR and West UP: The sky will remain clear or partly cloudy throughout the day in Ghaziabad, Noida (Gautam Buddha Nagar), Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Mathura and Agra. The maximum temperature here is being recorded between 34 to 36 degrees Celsius. Due to lack of rain and high humidity in the air, the intense humidity in the afternoon will make you sweat.

  • Bundelkhand region: The weather will remain almost dry in Jhansi, Banda, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jalaun and Lalitpur. The sultry heat will make people restless as the day temperature will cross 35 degrees in Banda and surrounding areas.

  • Awadh region: There will be mixed weather in the capital Lucknow, Kanpur Nagar, Barabanki, Sitapur, Rae Bareli and Unnao. Strong sunlight will increase the humidity in the afternoon, however, due to local clouds colliding, there may be sudden 20-30 minute heavy showers at some places in the evening or afternoon.

According to meteorologists, monsoon winds start retreating from northwest India by the end of the third week of September. After September 20, the weather is likely to be completely dry in western Uttar Pradesh. After this, monsoon may depart from entire Uttar Pradesh between 22 to 25 September. As soon as the monsoon completely withdraws, the period of north-westerly winds will start, due to which there will be sunshine during the day but the temperature will start falling at night and early morning, which will later pave the way for pink cold.

In this farewell phase of monsoon, more incidents of lightning and sudden strong winds (thunderstorm) are seen.

  • Advice to farmers: Farmers who have planted paddy crop should do irrigation and spraying of pesticides only after observing the weather patterns. Keep the harvested crops or millet-maize covered in safe places.

  • Caution regarding health: The risk of seasonal diseases has increased due to strong sunlight and sweating during the day and cold air from fan-AC at night. Doctors say that in this season, to avoid viral fever, dehydration and cold, drink enough water and avoid suddenly changing from cold to hot or from hot to cold environment.
