Statistics show that the possibility of lightning along with thunder is very high in about 61 districts of Uttar Pradesh. During the last few days, many untoward incidents due to lightning strikes have come to light in different parts of the state, after which the administration has become fully prepared. Meteorologists say that when there are dark, dense clouds in the sky and the wind speed is high, high voltage electricity is attracted towards the earth due to the friction between the clouds. In such a situation, this situation can prove fatal for farmers working in the fields, cattle herders grazing in open fields and common citizens traveling on the roads. There is a continuous appeal from the government and the disaster management authority that during bad weather, people should not under any circumstances take shelter under big trees or near raw t-shirts and electric poles.
