Kanpur, March 16 (HS). There is almost no possibility of a change in Team India for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup to be held in the United States and West Indies in the middle of this year. This can also be said because the Indian team is full of pre-determined contenders for all the places. The remaining players are left with hope, which can help in providing a good opportunity to the cricketers from the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL).
The new edition of the IPL will also be expected to feature nine cricketers from Uttar Pradesh who can impress the national selectors with exceptional performances in the cash league starting from March 22. Even if these players from UP are not selected for the World Cup, the talented players can definitely be considered for Team India's future T20s.
Both Meerut's experienced fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Aligarh's spinner Piyush Chawla are expected to perform well in this IPL. But it cannot be said completely that he may not get a chance from Team India for the T20 World Cup. Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be seen playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad and Piyush Chawla will be seen playing for Mumbai Indians.
At the same time, Kanpur's Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav and Team India's new match finisher Rinku Singh are considered certain to get Team India's ticket for the T20 World Cup. Both have performed consistently well in the shortest format of the game. In this format, Kanpur's Kuldeep is expected to be the first choice spinner for the World Cup along with leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi. So, just before the fifth and last Test against England, left-handed batsman Rinku Singh was called to Dharamshala. It is seen that Rinku Singh has been successful in establishing himself as a finisher, while young Meerut batsman Sameer Rizvi has a good chance to claim a place in Team India. Due to Rizvi's ability to dominate spin, he may get a chance in the IPL. Apart from Sameer Rizvi, the state's young wicket-keeper batsman Dhruv Jurel can also be a surprise inclusion in Team India for the T20 World Cup.
