UP NEET UG-2026: Revised schedule of second phase counseling released, choice filling from September 21


Lucknow, 20 September. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in the direction of expanding medical education in Uttar Pradesh and conducting the admission process in medical education transparently and as per the prescribed rules, the revised schedule of the second phase of online counseling of UP NEET UG-2026 has been released. According to the program released by the Directorate General of Medical Education and Training, Uttar Pradesh, the process of second phase counseling for admission to the state quota seats of MBBS/BDS course conducted in the state and private sector medical and dental colleges and medical universities of the state will proceed as per the scheduled schedule. Notification related to second phase counseling is also available on the official UP NEET portal.

According to the revised schedule, the merit list of the second phase will be released on September 21, 2026. After this, candidates will be able to do online choice filling from 2 pm on September 21 to 11 am on September 24. The seat allotment result will be released on September 25. Candidates allotted seats will be able to complete the admission process by downloading the allotment letter from September 26 to October 1, 2026. The Directorate General has clarified that the allotment of seats in the second phase will be done on the basis of the merit list of the second phase. The pre-determined terms and conditions for counseling will remain applicable.

Relief to students taking admission in the first phase

It has been said in the guidelines of the government that the admission of the candidates who have taken admission in government and private sector medical colleges/medical universities through the first phase of counselling, will remain the same. This has brought great relief to the candidates who took admission in the first phase. The government has also made it clear that keeping in mind the cases pending in Allahabad High Court and Supreme Court, further action will be taken as per the related decisions in the cases related to special reservation system in 4 government medical colleges. The Directorate General has appealed to the candidates to regularly visit the departmental websites upneet.gov.in and dgme.up.gov.in for updated information related to NEET UG-2026 counselling.

Expansion of medical education got broad base in Yogi government
During the tenure of Yogi government, emphasis has been laid on increasing the medical education infrastructure and availability of medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh. Many government and private medical institutions of the state are listed on the current UP NEET UG-2026 counseling portal. The purpose of this entire process is to carry forward the counseling process as per the court instructions, government decisions and prescribed reservation system.
