News India Live, Digital Desk: Now you are everything for us… only you can provide justice.” – These were the words of a sister, in front of whose eyes her brother was beaten to death. And she was saying this to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who along with his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had come on Tuesday to share the pain of the Dalit family of Mainpuri, whose son Hariom was brutally murdered.
When Rahul Gandhi reached the house of the victim’s family, the atmosphere was filled with tears. Hariom’s mother hugged Rahul Gandhi and cried bitterly over the loss of her son. She had only one slogan – “Get justice for my son.” This scene was so emotional that the eyes of everyone present there became moist.
“I am your son, don’t worry” – Rahul consoled.
Seeing this condition of the family, Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi also became very emotional. Rahul wiped Hariom’s mother’s tears and hugged her and assured her like a son. He said, “Don’t worry, I am your son. I am your brother. Whatever has to be done for justice, we will do it. We will fight for you from the streets to the Parliament.”
He also handed over a check of financial assistance to the family and said that he will continuously keep an eye on this case.
Sharp attack on the government
After meeting the family, Rahul Gandhi came out and directly targeted the Yogi government of the state. He said, “An atmosphere of hatred has been created in Uttar Pradesh. Here the poor, Dalits and backward classes are being openly crushed. This is an attack on the Constitution.”
Addressing the Chief Minister directly, he said, “Chief Minister, it is your responsibility. Give justice to this family.”
What was Hariom murder case?
This whole matter is related to that heart-wrenching incident in Mainpuri, when some bullies accused Dalit youth Hariom of theft and tied him to a tree and then beat him to death. This incident had created anger in the entire country.
This visit of Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi has brought a ray of hope for the grieving family, which is pleading for justice for their son.
