Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Council (UPMSP) has intensified its preparations to conduct the High School (10th) and Intermediate (12th) board examinations in a cheating-free, transparent and systematic manner. While issuing the detailed policy and schedule for determining the examination centers, the UP Board has made it clear that the final list of examination centers for the upcoming examinations will be completely finalized by October 29. This time also the allocation of examination centers will be done without any human intervention, through modern technology and special online software so that there is no scope for any kind of irregularities or bias.
Human intervention ends: Centers will be selected through software and geo-tagging
As per the guidelines issued by the board, the process of determining the examination center will be completely computerized and online. All schools will have to upload complete details of their infrastructure on the official portal of UP Board. After this, teams formed at the District School Inspector (DIOS) level will do physical verification and geo-tagging of the schools. After verification of the facilities provided by the schools, the software will generate the preliminary list of examination centers in an automated manner based on distance parameters and student capacity.
These standards will be very mandatory to become an examination center
To crack down on cheating mafia and provide a safe environment to the students, UP Board has set strict standards for the schools becoming centres:
-
CCTV cameras and voice recorders: CCTV cameras with night vision and voice recorder must be mandatorily activated in each room, main entrance, corridor and strong room of the examination centre.
-
Webcasting and High-Speed Internet: All cameras will be connected to 24-hour high-speed broadband internet for live webcasting from the district’s integrated command and control room and state level monitoring cell.
-
Strong Room Security: For the security of question papers, it is necessary to have double locked safe cabinets in the strong room and round the clock monitoring system.
-
Basic Facilities: It is mandatory for the rooms to have proper lighting, fans, pure drinking water, separate clean toilets for students and boundary walls.
-
Schools located in narrow streets will not become centres: Schools which do not have at least 10 feet wide paved road to reach from the main road or which are in remote sensitive areas, will not be made centres.
Disposal of objections and final list by 29th October
As per the schedule of the Board, the list of centers selected primarily through the software will be made public. After this, online objections will be invited from principals, parents and students.
The committee formed under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate will investigate and resolve these objections. After the final scrutiny of all the objections and physical verification reports, the list of final examination centers of all the districts will be stamped and released on the official portal by the Board Headquarters by October 29.
Benefit of own center or nearby center for girl students
According to the policy of UP Board, keeping in mind the safety and convenience of the girl students, they will be provided the facility of ‘Self-Center’ in their own school. If a girls school cannot be made a center due to insufficient resources, then the girl students will be allotted the nearest center located within a maximum radius of 5 kilometers from their school. At the same time, disabled students will also be allotted the nearest examination center.
