Kanpur, July 13 (HS). Under the centrally sponsored scheme of construction of hostels under the Prime Minister Yashasvi Yojana, proposals have been sought from educational institutions for backward class students in Kanpur city by July 20. This information was given by District Backward Class Welfare Officer Birpal on Saturday.
He informed that for the financial year 2024-25, hostels are to be constructed for the students of other backward classes under the Pradhan Mantri Yashasvi Yojana. For the centrally sponsored scheme, proposals have been sought for the construction of hostels from the educational institutions related to the state government, central educational institutions, state universities and institutions located in the district.
The official informed that if there is a need for hostel for the students of backward classes in the said educational institutions, then as per the new guidelines of Government of India available on the department's website Ministry of Scotal Justice (Empowerment Website) i.e. https://socialjustice.gov.in, they can provide their hostel proposal to the office of District Backward Classes Welfare Officer by July 20.
