Lucknow, 21 September (HS). The Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), formed to stop the illegal sale of drugs in Uttar Pradesh, has seized illegal drugs worth more than Rs 175 crore in the last three years. Talking about the overall action taken against illegal drugs in the state, more than 45 thousand kg of illegal drugs have been seized in four years.
Talking about the action taken by ANTF in the last three years, a total of 187 cases have been registered and 469 people have been arrested. At the same time, 20,384.91 kg of illegal drugs were recovered, the total cost of which is Rs 175 crore 49 lakh 27 thousand 500.
In these three years from 2022 to 2024, ANTF has seized 6.37 kg morphine, 33.44 kg heroin (smack), 129.63 kg hashish, 106.62 kg opium, 9,380.14 kg doda (poppy straw), 10,725.26 kg ganja and 3.44 kg mephedrone. If we talk about the action taken so far this year i.e. in 2024, a total of 91 cases were registered and 190 arrests were made. 1.78 kg morphine, 13.93 kg heroin (smack), 23.85 kg hashish, 61.88 kg opium, 3414.98 kg doda (poppy straw), 6467.01 kg ganja and 3.44 kg mephedrone have been seized. In total, ANTF seized 9988.86 kg of narcotics worth Rs 98 crore, 49 lakh and 52 thousand.
