A unique Navratri in Sabarkantha which is celebrated with sacred devotion for 9 days. In the festival, as per a long standing tradition in Sherpur village of Idar Taluka, local women play the unique Garba in this village and keep colorful Garbas on their heads. Women wear silver, copper, clay and Gujarati sarees. Unique Navratri of Sherpur village of Idar in Sabarkantha district where the women of Aso Norta wear earthen Garba including copper, brass and silver for ten days and perform Garba on their heads covered with different decorations in Chachar Chowk of the village for nine days . With the melodious songs of the singers, the elderly women on the road start this Garba along with the village women, who worship Jagat Amba by decorating their heads with different types of Garba. Along with women and elders, men and children also join the queue at Chachar Chowk. However, in this Garba, Aarti is not performed at 9:00 pm but first Garbani is played, then Mataji Aarti is performed between 11 to 11:30 pm, later everyone comes together and worships Jagadamba and Garba is seen in the entire village. is in a devotional atmosphere

Aso Navratri is considered very important especially for the devotees who worship the Goddess. During Navratri people worship various forms of Mataji. Apart from this, many devotees also do Aarti, decoration, Shakti puja of Mataji. At night time devotees do Garba in Chachar Chowk. Everyone is fasting in this Navala Norta by eating fruits for some time as per their faith and Shakti.

In Sherpur village of Idar Taluka, the villagers still believe in the glory of this devotion related to the faith of the Goddess and according to the tradition going on for years, various beliefs are held at the Agassi Mata Temple on its banks. On completion of the belief, the river Aso is celebrated in Navratri. For nine days, people roam around Aachar Chowk wearing garlands of different colors made of copper, silver and clay as per the beliefs.

The women of the village come to Mataji's Chachar Chowk with earthen pots including copper and silver, there is a unique glory and tradition in which the village girls and women still believe in. Keep the Garba on the ground until they reach back home. This is a unique feature of the village, here women wear Garba on their heads for nine days and go to the temple of Agasi Mata situated on the banks of the river to take refuge.
An atmosphere of happiness among the village people
Many calamities occur during the Gharati days before Navratri. An outbreak of infectious disease, or an increase in cold, due to rainfall in one place and drought in another. These natural disasters are seen more in the months of Shravan-Bhadrava and Aso. Therefore, there is a folklore that to remove all these troubles, Mataji is worshiped for nine days, especially among the devotees who come to play Garba, there is a different enthusiasm of Navratri, like during the night, players wear different costumes like traditional attire. The poor people come to play Garba, until the singers call these players Garba Ramzaat.. The people of the village have welcomed the people participating in the nine-day Garba.
