Shravan Monday: The holy month of Shravan, a mixture of penance, chanting and celebration, is going to start from tomorrow. This time Shravan month will start from Monday and end on 2 September – Monday. 3 September is the rising date of Amavasya.
This time, in the month of Shravan, there is a unique coincidence of five Mondays which are very dear to Lord Shiva. This will be the first time in three years that there will be five Mondays in the month of Shravan. For the next one month, devotees will remain immersed in the devotion of Lord Shiva. Festivals like Rakshabandhan, Janmashtami will also be celebrated in the month of Shravan.
Such a coincidence is happening after 71 years
Call it a unique Yoga that Shravan Panch starts on Monday and ends on Monday. This coincidence is going to happen again after seven decades. Currently Vikram Samvat 2080 is going on. Earlier in Vikram Samvat 2010 and year 1953, Shravan month which started on Monday, 10th August, ended on Monday. Such a coincidence is happening again after 71 years.
An atmosphere of penance, worship and devotion among Shiva devotees
Shravan month is considered to be the holiest month among the twelve months and the devotion of Shiva done in this month easily gives the desired results. On the occasion of Shravan month, special decoration, worship, Bilva Abhishek, Aarti-Prasad have been organized for Bholenath in all the Shiva temples across the state including Ahmedabad city. During Shravan month, there is an atmosphere of penance, worship and devotion among Shiva devotees.
The celebrations begin after August 17
After August 17, many holy festivals like Nag Panchami, Panchana Chhath, Sheetla Satam, Tulsidas Jayanti, Putrada Ekadashi, Rakshabandhan, Vratani Poonam, Chaturmas, Hindola, Bolchoth, Janmashtami, Paryushan Mahaparva, Phulkajali Vrat will come. On the first day of Adhik Shravan month, a large number of devotees have reached Somnath, Nageshwar, Mahakal of Ujjain to have darshan of Jyotirling.
Special plan for worship in temples for the next two months
Special arrangements will be made for worship in the Shiva temples of Ahmedabad for the next two months. A large number of people will gather at the ancient Karnamukteshwar Mahadev of Ahmedabad, Chakudia Mahadev temple in Rakhiyal, Ranmukteshwar temple on the banks of the Sabarmati river near Indira Bridge, the ancient Shiva temple in Vastral village, Siddheshwar Mahadev temple in Sigarwa, Kubereshwar temple wall adjacent to the airport.
