Union Minister Indrajit expressed his displeasure over the cleaning of drains in Gurugram

Gurugram, June 25 (HS). Union Minister of State Rao Indrajit Singh held a meeting with administrative officials at the PWD Rest House on Tuesday. He reviewed various development works related to Gurugram city, cleanliness system and arrangements being made to deal with waterlogging during the rainy season. During this, the Union Minister also sought a report on the development work being done in Gurugram from GMDA CEO A. Srinivas, Municipal Corporation Gurugram Commissioner Narhari Singh Bangar and DC Nishant Kumar Yadav. Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Chandra Bidhan was also present in the meeting.

While addressing the review meeting, Rao Inderjit Singh said that Gurugram is a global city. In such a situation, a clean environment should be provided to the people living in the urban area. Serious efforts should be made at the level of the officials. Solution to garbage and waterlogging should be ensured. He instructed that garbage should be lifted from the busiest areas of the city in a timely manner. Along with this, he instructed to prepare an action plan to improve the sanitation system and sewer system of the extended areas and complete it soon. He also instructed all the officials to visit their zones and identify all GVP sites and eliminate them.

He expressed his displeasure over the cleanliness system, especially the cleaning of drains. He instructed the municipal corporation officials to improve the cleanliness system at all costs. He told the GMDA officials to remove the permanent or temporary obstructions affecting the drainage system. Such obstructions which block the drains and cause waterlogging should be removed immediately. Also, those who throw garbage in the drains should be dealt with strictly.

During this, the Union Minister also sought a report on the GMDA's plan to put treated sewerage water in Damdama Lake through a pipeline and the progress of the construction of the sports complex in village Wazirabad. On which the concerned officials said that the villagers are angry about the treated water in Damdama Lake. The Union Minister instructed DC Nishant Kumar Yadav to talk to the villagers and find a solution to this. While giving information related to the progress of the sports complex, the officials said that the work order for the construction of this sports complex to be built on 11 acres at a cost of about 88 crores has been issued. Soon the work will start on the ground.
