Lucknow, 15 February (HS). Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will come to Uttar Pradesh on a one-day visit on Friday. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will first come to Kanpur and then to Lucknow. The Union Minister will inspect the Sewage Treatment Plant and Common Effluent Treatment Plant in Kanpur. After this he will come to Lucknow.
Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will attend a two-day national conference on Jal Jeevan Mission and Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural) organized at The Centrum Hotel, Lucknow.
Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Vini Mahajan, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation will enrich the discussion with their collective knowledge and expertise and provide comprehensive perspectives on various aspects of the WASH sector.
This conference will be important in discussing key issues related to drinking water and sanitation in rural areas, sharing best practices and charting a way forward by ensuring collaborative planning and innovation in rural sanitation. The main theme of the conference will be sustainability of the number of schemes, which is important for the long-term success of WASH programmes. The program will also include special thematic sessions on important aspects of operation and maintenance, WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) and skills i.e. Nal Jal Mitra Program (NJMP). Participants will participate in panel discussions on thematic topics, share insights and explore solutions to enhance the effectiveness of rural WASH initiatives across the country.
The conference will provide a unique platform for mutual learning through detailed presentations by various States/UTs on identified thematic areas, showcasing best practices implemented across the country.
