Raipur, 27 July (HS). Union Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya praised Chhattisgarh's 16-year-old javelin thrower Vijay Yadav and asked him to take inspiration from Olympian Neeraj Chopra. He praised Mr. Yadav and said that this is an excellent performance at such a young age. This player from Surguja district showed his strength by throwing the javelin to a long distance of more than 68 meters. The Union Sports Minister had come to meet the players at Swami Vivekananda Stadium in Kota, the capital Raipur.
Union Sports Minister Dr. Mandaviya also encouraged Chhattisgarh's women footballer Kiran Pisda. Kiran has participated in the European Football Competition as a professional player for Croatia's first class team WFC Dinamo Zagreb. She was training at Raipur Football Academy for the last five years. Ms. Kiran has also played for Kerala Ballers Women and Setu FC. He said that our country's daughters will bring glory to the country by performing in the same way.
The Union Sports Minister met weightlifting players at Khelo India Mini Center and appreciated their performance in sports. He met the players receiving sports training from different districts of the state, boosted their morale and wished them a bright future. He also motivated the players of archery, football and athletics for better performance. Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam, Sports Minister Tankaram Verma, MLA Sushant Shukla, Sports Secretary Himshikhar Gupta, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Abinash Mishra and Sports Director Mrs. Tanuja Salam and a large number of players were also present.
