Dhanbad, 25 July (HS). Union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy reached Dhanbad on Thursday. He landed at the airport in Barwada in his special vehicle. During this time, Coal India Chairman PN Prasad, BCCL CMD Samiran Dutta, Dhanbad MP Dhullu Mahato and many other officials were present to welcome him. He was given a guard of honor at the airport. After this, he left with the officials to participate in further programs. The Coal Minister will visit BCCL projects. He will also meet the people living in fire affected and landslide areas.
Union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy first reached the workers' memorial, where he paid tribute to the coal workers who sacrificed their lives to give energy to the country. After this, he planted a sapling in the Panchavati Eco Park of BCCL located in Coal Nagar. Along with this, under a program, the work of planting trees has started in all the units of Coal India.
After this, he directly went to visit the projects of Sijua, Kusunda and Jharia. BCCL officials said that the Union Coal and Mines Minister will meet the people displaced from Jharia fire affected area today. He will also visit these areas. During this, he will also listen to the problems of the displaced people.
It is known that in view of the increasing demand for coking coal in the country, the government has a special eye on BCCL. For this, the Union Minister will also hold a review meeting with BCCL officials.
Jharia rehabilitation plan is included in the cabinet agenda. A large population lives in fire affected and landslide areas. Displacement and rehabilitation is also a major issue for Koyalanchal. Assembly elections are also near in Jharkhand. In such a situation, the coal minister's visit to Dhanbad and his meeting with people living in fire affected and landslide areas tomorrow is also being linked to the elections. Along with this, there is a possibility that the new Jharia rehabilitation plan may get approval before the assembly elections.
While talking to the media, the Union Coal and Mines Minister said that I have come here to meet the people and know their problems.
