Under the Chief Minister's Tirtha Darshan Yojana, devotees of different religions will be provided with pilgrimage

Ranchi, June 29 (HS). Under the Chief Minister's Tirtha Darshan Yojana, pilgrims belonging to the BPL category will be taken on pilgrimage in July. In this, Christian devotees will be taken to Goa, Hindu devotees to Dwarka-Somnath and Muslim devotees to Ajmer Sharif-Agra-Fatehpur Sikri. 88 beneficiaries belonging to the poor senior citizen category will get the benefit of the scheme.

According to Jharkhand Gazette (General) dated 21 September 2016, the age of the pilgrim should be more than 60 years. He should be a permanent resident of Jharkhand state. The pilgrim should come under BPL category (should not be a taxpayer). The pilgrim should not have availed the benefit of such Tirth Darshan Yojana earlier.

To support the beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Tirtha Darshan Yojana (self, husband, wife and family members), a family member can accompany them as a co-traveller. In this regard, the application of your co-traveller will have to be submitted along with your application.

Must be physically and mentally fit to undertake the pilgrimage. Must not be suffering from any infectious disease (e.g., TB, difficulty in breathing, heart disease, leprosy, etc.). Original medical certificate containing certificate for travel certificate.

One photograph should be pasted and one should be attached to the application form. Aadhar card, driving license, electricity bill, voter ID card or any other certificate recognized by the state government will be accepted as proof of residence. If poor senior citizens submit applications together in a group, then the application of the entire group will be considered as one application for selection. The maximum number of members including attendants in a group will be 25, more than this will not be valid.

The selection of pilgrims will be done by the concerned district level management committee. First of all, all the applications will be distributed in order. The selection of pilgrims will be done on first come first serve basis. If the number of pilgrims increases beyond the prescribed share, then an additional process list (10 percent of the prescribed share) will also be prepared. The total number of pilgrims of the state and district will be informed by Jharkhand Tourism Development Corporation. If the total number of applications selected in this event is less than the minimum requirement set for any pilgrimage, then Jharkhand Tourism Corporation can also cancel the package using its discretion.
