On Thursday night, near Sabnawa turn of Mohammadganj police station area on Mohammadganj-Japala main road of the district, a speeding uncontrolled Thar car crushed five people who were warming themselves in a bonfire on the roadside. In this accident, Arshad Khan and Asif Khan of Sabnawa village died on the spot, while Imran Khan, Jahangir Khan and Hasnain Khan were seriously injured. Two injured people have been admitted to the sub-divisional hospital of Hussainabad for better treatment. One was treated in the village itself due to minor injuries. After the accident the car fell into a ditch.
After the incident, angry people blocked the Mohammadganj-Japala main road. A huge crowd gathered on the road and traffic was affected. The villagers were demanding strict action from the administration against the culprits and emphasizing the need for concrete measures for road safety. After the incident, the driver of the two in the car fled from the spot, while the other was caught by the villagers. He has been beaten severely due to which his condition is also serious. He has been handed over to the police. Efforts are being made to identify him. Police of Mohammadganj police station reached the spot and tried to clear the jam. Haidernagar and Hussainabad police also reached the spot. Mohammadganj CO Ranveer Kumar and Haidernagar CO also reached the spot and convinced the people and got the jam removed.
He appealed to the villagers to maintain peace and said the incident was being investigated. In this case, the affected families demanded compensation. The administrative officer said that efforts will be made to provide compensation at the government level as per rules. After much persuasion, the jam was removed late at night.

Mohammadganj police station in-charge Mukesh Kumar Singh has taken the bodies into custody and sent them to sub-divisional hospital Hussainabad for post-mortem.
