UN OCHA agency report in Palestinian territories

Geneva: Nine out of every 10 people across the Gaza Strip are internally or externally displaced. This dire situation has persisted since the start of the Hamas-Israel war.

Andrea Dandomenico, head of the UN humanitarian agency OCHA, told reporters in Jerusalem on Wednesday evening. He further said that the number of displaced people has been increasing since the war began on 7 October 2023. Which has increased 10 times so far.

He further said that earlier we had estimated that 17 lakh people could be displaced, but after the attack on Rafah started and heavy destruction in the north, this number has increased. However, we have also taken action in the north.

The head of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said the Gaza Strip has been divided into two parts. 3 to 3.5 lakh people from the north cannot go south. About 11,000 people were able to take refuge in Egypt before the Rafah crossing was closed when the war began.

In this war which started on 7 October 2023, 1195 people were killed in the first attack by Hamas. It captured 251. Most of them were civilians. After this, 37953 Palestinians (including Hamas terrorists) have been killed in Israel's retaliatory attacks. Gaza city as well as other cities and towns. Rafah in the west has become a ruin. Israel has also wreaked havoc in the West Bank. It seems that Israel wants to expel all Palestinians from these areas.

Whatever the West does, Israel has its full support. It wants to establish its hold on the Middle East and the Sisi Peninsula by making Israel its base.
