Mumbai Serial Blasts: The convict of 1993 Mumbai Serial Blasts has died in jail. Accused Mohammad Ali Khan has been murdered in Kolhapur jail.

Mohammad Ali Khan was brutally murdered in Kolhapur jail. According to the police, the five accused who were in judicial custody in the jail committed the murder on Sunday. These accused beheaded Mohammad Ali Khan, after which he died.

Kolhapur jail has four convicts of the 1993 Mumbai blasts, one of whom is Mohammed Ali Khan. Five accused in judicial custody in another case were kept in Mohammed Ali Khan's barrack.

According to the police, the accused of the murder have been identified as Pratik Patil, Deepak Khot, Sandeep Chavan, Rituraj Inamdar and Saurabh Siddh. According to Deputy Inspector General of Prison Department Swati Sathe, all these accused, including the deceased Mohammad Ali Khan, lived in the same barrack. She said that the police is investigating whether there was any dispute between them.

Currently, after this murder inside the jail, the jail department has increased the security of other Mumbai blast accused lodged in Kolhapur jail. An investigation has been started to find out the main reason behind this murder inside the jail.

Mohammed Ali Khan alias Munna alias Manoj Kumar Bhanwarlal Gupta was serving life sentence in Kolhapur jail in the Mumbai bomb blast case. Police have registered a case of murder against the five accused.

On 12 March 1993, 50 people died in a massive explosion in the basement of the 28-storey Bombay Stock Exchange building. Half an hour later, a second explosion took place in a car, followed by a series of explosions. In two hours, 13 blasts took place at 12 places in Mumbai. 257 people were killed and 713 were injured in these serial blasts.
