Dhanbad became the overall champion of Nipun Samagam Jharkhand

Ranchi, July 5 (HS). To mark the completion of three years of Nipun Bharat Mission, a one-day state-level Nipun Samagam Jharkhand was organized at Prabhat Tara Ground on Friday under the aegis of the state's School Education and Literacy Department and Jharkhand Education Project Council in collaboration with India Partnership for Early Learning (IPEL)-FLN PMU. 450 teachers from 24 districts of the state, representatives of ten non-governmental groups and thousands of school children participated in it.

This event was inaugurated by the state's School Education and Literacy Department Secretary Umashankar Singh. He said that there is no dearth of talent among the teachers of government schools. He urged to make the teaching-learning interesting and entertaining as well as to make the educational environment of schools encouraging in order to prevent retention and dropout of children enrolled in classes one to five. He also stressed on teaching TLM to children in their regional and mother tongue, so that better understanding develops in the children.

The Secretary said that in order to make the TLM effective, instructions were given to continuously monitor it. He said that keeping in mind all the 24 thousand primary schools, in a phased manner, the Jharkhand Education Project should work towards making the TLM excellent and giving its benefits to the children. He also said that programs like Nipun Samagam should be held at regular intervals. Today, the trained teachers who have given an unprecedented display of their skills in the state-level Nipun Samagam, with the help of these teachers, the skill of making TLM can be taught to the teachers by organizing training sessions in each district of the state through JCERT.

Jharkhand Education Project Director Aditya Ranjan said that the talent demonstrated by the teachers of government schools in the Nipun Samagam will prove to be a milestone. He said that now Nipun Samagam will be organized every year. Along with this, one room in every school will be established as a TLM room so that children from classes one to five can get knowledge of language and numeracy in their mother, regional, tribal language. He said that the teachers who proved their talent in the district and block level TLM fairs before this state level event, cannot be praised enough.

Director of Social Welfare, Women and Child Development and Social Security Department, Shashi Prakash Jha said that an exhibition of TLM must be organized in a room of DIET and schools of all districts. He said that teachers who are skilled in making TLM should be sent on a tour to other schools so that they can train other teachers as well. If you have any talent, then use it to train others.

UNICEF's education specialist Parul Sharma said that today we are celebrating the convergence of basic education related to primary class as a journey of success. In all the developed countries, the government education system has been strong. Our journey for quality education is still long. Nipun Mission has proved to be a milestone in this journey.

Teachers selected in the district level TLM fair displayed their FLN/TLM models in the state level Nipun Samagam. Three districts which made the best TLM in this exhibition were awarded. Dhanbad became the overall winner of Nipun Samagam Jharkhand-2024 while Dumka became the first runner up and West Singhbhum became the second runner up. The jury comprised Mamta Elizabeth Lakra, Seema Rajput and Gayatri Subramanyam. The winners were awarded by the Secretary of the School Education and Literacy Department.

Release of Children's Literature and Activity Bank Handbook

The Secretary of the School Education and Literacy Department and other dignitaries jointly released the Bal Sahitya. Seven teachers who wrote this book were also felicitated. The teachers who were felicitated included Ravishankar Pathak, Satendra Kumar, Meenu Kumari, Anjali Kujur, Jaya Prabha, Binish Kumar Shukla and Shipra Mishra. Activity Bank Handbook was also released during the event. 14 teachers selected from all districts also organised a TLM exhibition at the Nipun Samagam.
