Mumbai: A case has been registered against Additional Commissioner of Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation in Thane district, Jamil Langrekar, for calling a junior female employee to his cabin and molesting her.
The woman had accused the officer that Langrekar would often call her to his cabin for some reason or the other and touch her inappropriately. Apart from this, the officer also made indecent demands from the female employee.
In this regard, according to an official of Ulhasnagar Central Police Station, a 42-year-old female employee lodged a complaint against the accused (46) and said that the accused officer often called her to his cabin for some reason or the other and touched her. He misbehaved with her, besides he also made indecent demands from the woman. This alleged incident took place between April 2022 and July 2023. Finally, the woman got fed up and lodged a complaint with the police.
Based on the complaint of the woman employee, the police registered a case against the accused Langrekar under sections 354 (rape), 354 (A) (sexual harassment), 509 and conducted further investigation. In this regard, the complainant woman told the police that she had not lodged a complaint in this regard earlier because her father was suffering from cancer and she was busy treating him.
