Ukraine’s biggest ever air attack on Russia: More than 800 drones fired, missile factory destroyed and 6 people killed

The ongoing fierce war between Russia and Ukraine has now reached a very dangerous turn. Ukraine has carried out one of the largest and most devastating air strikes on mainland Russia since the beginning of the war. The Ukrainian Army simultaneously fired more than 800 drones targeting Russia’s most strategically sensitive targets. The massive airstrike has caused massive devastation inside Russia, destroying a major missile and rocket solid fuel factory as well as a military airstrip in the Rostov region.

Direct hit on Rostov’s missile fuel factory and military airstrip

The Ukrainian military shared official information on Telegram saying that they have targeted Russia’s rocket centers and military bases. In this attack, the state-of-the-art factory located in Russia’s south-western Rostov region, where solid rocket propellant was manufactured for Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS), various missile systems and air-to-air weapons, was reduced to debris. Apart from this, Ukraine has also destroyed the strategic military airstrip in Nizhny, from where Russian fighter planes used to fly and bomb Ukrainian targets. After these attacks, massive fires broke out at both the major Russian bases, which the fire brigades had to work hard to extinguish.

Russia claims: 822 Ukrainian drones shot down in the air

On the other hand, the Russian Defense Ministry has confirmed this massive attack, claiming that their air defense systems destroyed a total of 822 Ukrainian drones in the air overnight. According to Russian officials, more than 600 of these drones alone were fired directly towards the country’s capital Moscow, which were intercepted and shot down in the sky of Moscow itself. However, due to security breach, many drones managed to reach their targets.

6 people died tragically in horrific attacks

Due to these rapid attacks by Ukraine, there has been huge loss of life in different areas of Russia. At least five people were killed in the blasts that targeted three separate towns and an unidentified industrial unit in the Rostov region, according to information provided by local authorities and governors. At the same time, a Ukrainian drone directly hit a private house in a residential area near the capital Moscow, due to which an 83-year-old elderly man lost his life in a massive explosion. After this attack, high alert has been declared in many major cities of Russia.
