News India Live, Digital Desk: The UK government, headed by Prime Minister Kir Starmer, is scheduled to release a strategic defense review on Monday. The report is likely to throw light on the dangers arising from Russia and China.
British newspaper The Guardian According to Saturday’s report, a review of the 10 -year plan for military equipment and services, will be warned of “immediate and pressure” threat generated by Russia.
This is a 130 -page report which has been compiled by a team led by former NATO general secretary George Robertson. The report will describe China as a “sophisticated and consistent challenge”, which has often shown a desire to cooperate with Russia. In this, Iran and North Korea will also be identified as two small “regional disruptives”. The Russia-Ukraine war broke out in 2022. Since then, Russia has made important agreements with many opponents of the West including China, Iran and North Korea.
The report has been composed by Robertson and Fiona Hill, former US President Advisor, and Richard Bairens, who is a former British commander. It is also expected to question the size of the British Army, which is currently about 1 lakh.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, the UK government stated that it would set up at least six new factories that make arms and explosives under comprehensive revaluation of their defense capabilities.
