Ujjain, 11 May (HS). Collector and District Election Officer Neeraj Kumar Singh said that from the departure of the polling parties with the election material till the collection of the material, the entire responsibility will be of all the sector officers and sector police officers. Sector officers should conduct peaceful, fair and successful voting. The Collector on Saturday gave necessary guidelines to the Sector Officers and Sector Police Officers appointed for all the assemblies in the Engineering College regarding conducting the voting in an orderly manner.
He said that GPS fitted vehicles have been provided to sector officers. Due to which sector officers will also be monitored from the control room. Sector officers should make a thorough visit to their sector today and ensure that the 48-hour protocol is followed seriously. See that there are no meetings, loudspeakers or distribution of illegal material in the sector. Complaints received in Sea Vigil should also be resolved promptly.
He said that election material will be distributed to the polling parties on Sunday morning. Sector officers should ensure that the polling parties of their sector sit only at the designated place of material distribution site and receive other material including EVMs only after matching properly. One master trainer each has been provided for each sector. Mix the material thoroughly in the presence of the master trainer. Take special care that there is no damage to the EVM while receiving the material. Only EVMs allotted to the polling station should be obtained. He said that after the third randomization of polling parties today, polling stations will be allotted to the polling parties.
The Collector instructed that after receiving the material, it should be ensured that the polling parties leave on time by boarding the bus on their scheduled route. Reserve polling parties have also been formed for all the assemblies. Reserve teams of Ujjain North, Ujjain South and Ghatiya Assembly will remain at the district headquarters. The polling parties of the remaining four assemblies will be present at the designated place of the assembly itself. In case of need of reserve team, the Sector Officer should be in constant contact with his Assistant Returning Officer.
He said that EVM machines should not be changed unnecessarily during voting. EVM machines should be changed only after proper checking. The process of mock poll should be started in the presence of the election agent. The identity of the polling agents should also be ensured. If the election agent is not present within 15 minutes then the process of mock poll should be started. Stay in touch with your polling team every 15 minutes of the first mock poll. So that if information about EVM machine malfunction is received, necessary action can be taken immediately.
He directed that reports of the departure of polling parties and their arrival at the centers should be given to the control room. Sector officers and sector police officers will rest at the designated polling stations only. Sector officers should visit all the polling stations in their sector today and make arrangements for food, drinking water, toilets etc. for the polling parties there. If any deficiency is found at any level, it should be resolved immediately.
Superintendent of Police Pradeep Sharma said that all necessary arrangements have been ensured to conduct the voting in an organized manner. If any deficiency is found at any level, the Sector Officer and Sector Police Officer should get it filled immediately. Adequate force has been made available for security arrangements.
