Ujjain: Lord Mahakal's procession will be taken out in the month of Saavan as per tradition

Ujjain, July 11 (HS). The procession of Lord Mahakal will be taken out from Jyotirling Mahakal temple in the month of Sawan-Bhadon as per tradition. Rajadhiraj Mahakal will ride on a silver palanquin to give darshan to the devotees. Two LED vehicles will be included in the caravan so that the devotees can easily see Lord Mahakal during the procession.

This decision was taken in the management committee meeting held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Collector Neeraj Kumar Singh. Some other decisions related to the darshan system of the month of Saawan were also taken in the meeting. After discussion with the members, the collector made it clear that there will be no change in the worship and festival tradition of the temple.
According to the timeless tradition, the procession of Lord Mahakal will be taken out in a palanquin. The Jal Abhishek of Lord Mahakal has special importance in the month of Saavan. To facilitate the visitors coming from the country and abroad to perform the Jal Abhishek of Lord Mahakal, water vessels will be installed in Kartikeya and Sabha Mandap.

Arrangements for Kanwar pilgrims: In the month of Shravan, Kanwar pilgrims from all over the country come to Ujjain to perform Jalabhishek of Lord Mahakal. Kanwariyas will be given special entry from Gate No. 4 of the temple, except on the crowded days of Saturday, Sunday and Monday. If Kanwar pilgrims come to visit Mahakal on these three days, they will have to stand in the queue of general visitors.
This arrangement regarding ash-aarti
In the month of Shravan, the online booking facility for Bhasma Aarti will be blocked on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. During these days, visitors will have to obtain offline permission from the Bhasma Aarti counter of the temple. Mayor Mukesh Tatwal, SP Pradeep Sharma, committee member Mahant Vinitgiri Maharaj, Pandit Ram Pujari, Rajendra Sharma, Pradeep Pujari etc. were present in the meeting.

The tradition continued, demand for taking rides on the trolley was rising
For some days, there was a constant demand for making changes in the tradition of the procession in the city. Some people of the city said that one cannot have darshan of Lord Mahakal in a palanquin, so the procession should be taken out by placing the Lord on a trolley, tractor or bullock cart. However, there was no discussion on these topics in the management committee meeting.
