Influenza vaccination has been made mandatory for all pilgrims performing Umrah and Hajj in the UAE. Not only this, the Ministry of Health and Prevention has also stressed on following vaccination protocols and health precautions. Umrah pilgrims will have to show proof of their influenza vaccination from March 26, 2024.
The Ministry of Health and Prevention has advised travelers to visit a health center well in advance of their travel date. So as to ensure that they have access to all the necessary vaccines at government and private health centres.
The ministry has also said that the vaccine should be administered at least 10 days before travel to ensure vaccine effectiveness and immunity. While elderly patients are advised to consult their doctor to confirm the stability of their health before Hajj and Umrah.
Travelers are also advised to maintain adequate supply of medicines with them. Take the advice given by doctors seriously and complete the vaccination process. Apart from this, an appeal has also been made to the passengers to exercise continuously.
The ministry said passengers who had received influenza vaccination last year. He does not need a new dose. He can show his vaccination card through Al Hosn app before travelling. Dr. Hussein Abdul Rahman Al Rand, Assistant Secretary, Public Health Sector, says that we are not only ensuring that Hajj and Umrah pilgrims are vaccinated, but the vulnerable people living among us are also being taken care of. This includes elderly people, chronic patients, pregnant women and lactating women.
