Kanpur, 14 November (HS). The police team of Maharajpur police station on Thursday exposed the vicious gang involved in theft and arrested two thieves with a reward of Rs 25,000 each. The police team has also recovered stolen goods from the possession of both of them. Deputy Commissioner of Police Eastern Zone Shravan Kumar Singh gave this information to the journalists.
He told that among the arrested accused are Gulfan son of Firoz, resident of Mardan Naka located in Kotwali police station area of Banda district and his neighbor Asif alias Kallu son of Ishrat Ali.
It is noteworthy that a case has been registered against the arrested accused in Maharajpur police station in connection with the theft that took place on June 30 and August 16. Both were absconding after the incident. The police team was busy searching for them. However, later a reward of Rs 25,000 each has been announced against both of them. As part of the ongoing campaign against criminals, on the information of an informer, the police team of Maharajpur police station arrested him near Navodaya Nagar underpass. The police team has recovered two submersible pumps and an inverter from their possession. During interrogation, it was told that he along with his associates used to reconnoitre the closed houses and plots during the day by car and at night, they used to steal the goods found in the said houses and plots. Used to sell it as scrap. They used to divide the amount received among themselves. There are criminal cases registered against both of them in the past also. The police will take legal action and send both of them to jail.
