Ghaziabad, 25 September (HS). Police of Kotwali Nagar police station has arrested two robbers during an encounter. During the encounter, one robber was injured by a bullet fired by the police. He has been admitted to the hospital. The robbers have been taken out of their custody.
01 Splendor black colour motorcycle, Rs 4850, 02 mobiles, 01 pistol of 315 bore, 04 live cartridges and 01 empty cartridge of 315 bore have been recovered illegally.
ACP Ritesh Tripathi said that during checking on Tuesday night, suspicious persons and vehicles were being checked on the road leading to Vijay Nagar flyover near Sai Upvan. Then 02 riders were seen coming on 01 motorcycle from the side of Eco Park Cut Kutcha road. Police signaled them to stop. Then they tried to escape by turning the motorcycle. Then the motorcycle slipped and fell and both the persons ran towards the bushes. When the police asked them to stop, they opened fire on the police party with the intention to kill. The police party fired in self-defense. During this, Wasim was shot in the leg and the other accused Qadir was also arrested by the police from the spot. Among the arrested robbers, Wasim Bajigaran is a resident of Ward No. 14 Dasna in front of Veer Abdul Hameed Park and Qadir is a resident of Char Biswa Usman Colony Dasna Gate.
