Giridih, 19 April (HIST). Two children died due to drowning in a pond in Telkhara of Dumri police station area on Friday. Both were real brothers. Both of them had come to Telkhara to attend the wedding ceremony at their maternal uncle's house.
It is said that Tunua Devi, wife of Chandrika Sao, resident of Gurguria Tand of Bagodar, along with her two sons Ashish Kumar and Chhotu Kumar had come to Telkhara to attend the wedding ceremony at the house of her cousin brother Prakash Sao. On Friday afternoon, Ashish and Chhotu, along with their mother and other women of the house, had gone to the pond located at some distance from the house to take bath.
Meanwhile, one brother started drowning and seeing this the other brother went to save him and both of them started drowning. Seeing this, other children of the village who were bathing together informed the women bathing in the pond. As soon as the news came, the people of the village gathered there and somehow pulled both of them out and immediately brought them to Dumri Referral Hospital in an ambulance. Doctors declared Ashish Kumar (16) and Chhotu Kumar (15) dead.
