East Champaran, 30 August (HS). Two people including a woman died under suspicious circumstances in two different villages of Piprakothi police station area of the district. In both the cases, the police have recovered the bodies and sent them to Sadar Hospital for postmortem.
No FIR has been registered in both the cases so far. The first incident is from Bela village where the villagers saw the dead body of a young man hanging from a branch of a mango tree in an orchard. The deceased is Jitendra Kumar Manjhi, 22-year-old son of Umashankar Manjhi of the said village. It is said that on Friday morning, the police was informed after the dead body was seen hanging from a branch of a mango tree in a garden at a distance of two hundred meters from the deceased's house in a suspicious condition.
The police reached the spot and sent the body for postmortem. It was told that the deceased Jitendra Kumar Manjhi was the fourth among his three brothers and two sisters and was still unmarried. In the second incident, the body of a woman was recovered from the railway track near Madhuchhapra. She has been identified as Aarti Devi, 25-year-old wife of Suman Mahato, a resident of Panditpur village. In this regard, the people of the deceased's maternal side are talking about murder. However, no application has been received in the local police station in both the cases yet. Various discussions are going on in the area in this case. It is said that Aarti was married only two years ago. The police has started investigating both the cases.
