Two Mukhiyas of the district were honored by the Health Minister

East Champaran, 27 July (HS). Health Minister Mangal Pandey has honored two Mukhiyas of the district, Raju Baitha (Godhva) and Gopal Rai (Chhoradanon), Panchayat Ekdari for doing better work in the family planning program during the Population Stabilization Month.

Both of them have played a leading role in organizing special village meetings, spreading awareness about family planning programs, distributing new initiative kits among newly married couples, getting women to do family planning to control the growing population, getting men sterilized, as well as spreading awareness about the use of permanent and temporary methods. For these contributions, they were honored in a program organized by the Center for Catalyzing Change (C3) in Patna.

C3 district representative Aditya Raj said that on the occasion of Population Stabilization Month, a round table discussion was organized by the Center for Catalyzing Change (C3) in Patna, focusing on reversible contraceptives for young couples. In this program, Health Minister Mangal Pandey honored the Mukhiya and ward members of many districts.

In the program, Mukhiya Raju Baitha told about his efforts to organize Saas Bahu Beti Sammelan in East Champaran. He told how “Healthy Village” has been chosen as the theme for GPDP. Mukhiya Gopal Rai played an important role in organizing a special Gram Sabha in his Panchayat under Mission Parivar Vikas in East Champaran and distributing Nayi Pehal Kit to 10 newly married couples of the Panchayat. Along with this, he continuously ran awareness campaigns in his Panchayat to ensure the participation of men in family planning.

On this occasion, Dr. Aparajita Gogoi, Executive Director of the Center for Catalyzing Change, explained how girls completing their education leads to better health outcomes. District Civil Surgeon Dr. Vinod Kumar Singh, ACMO Dr. Shravan Kumar Paswan, DCM Nandan Jha, DPM Thakur Vishwamohan and other health officials congratulated the public representatives on being honored.
