Two members of a mobile theft gang arrested, mobile phones worth Rs 15 lakh recovered


Prayagraj, 03 July (HS). On Wednesday, a joint police team of Handia police station and surveillance arrested two members of a mobile theft gang near Bheski Overbridge. The police team recovered 43 mobile phones of various companies from their possession, whose estimated value is Rs 15 lakh.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ganganagar Abhishek Bharti said that among the arrested accused are Manish Pandey, a resident of Kathara Rasoolpur Andawa village of Handia police station area and his neighbour Piyush Pandey. A joint police team of Surveillance Cell in-charge Ganganagar Sub Inspector Sukhchain Tiwari and Handia in-charge Inspector Brij Kishore Gautam arrested both the accused from near Bheski Overbridge on Wednesday as part of the campaign being run against criminals.

The police team has recovered a total of 43 stolen mobile phones of various companies and Rs 700 in cash from the possession of both of them. The estimated cost of the mobile phones is about Rs 15 lakh. A case has already been registered against both of them under various sections.
