Two killed, nine injured in two separate road accidents in Jammu and Doda districts | News India

Jammu, August 31 (HS). Two people were killed and nine injured in separate road accidents in Jammu and Doda districts of Jammu division on Saturday.

According to information, a minibus overturned after colliding with a car on Kunjwani bypass, killing a student Surabhi Kumari (18) and injuring eight other passengers including six girls. The students were on their way to school when the accident happened. Both vehicles suffered heavy damage. The injured were rushed to hospital and the condition of two of them is said to be critical.

The injured have been identified as Saina (16), daughter of Mohammad Rafiq, resident of Kunjwani, Gautam Sharma son of late Manoj Kumar, resident of Chattha (25), Akesh Mohan son of late Tilak Raj Mohan, resident of Afghana Mohalla Panjtrithi (39), Muskan Sharma daughter of Rohi Das, resident of Ratnu Chak Jammu (16), Sarita daughter of Upinder Ram, resident of Dhyansar Badi Brahmana (16), Nisha daughter of Durga Swansi, resident of Dhyansar Badi Brahmana (16), Sumit Kumar son of Mulkh Raj, resident of Doda, currently living in Badi Brahmana and Shivani daughter of Raj Kumar, resident of Kunjwani.

In another incident, a car fell into a ditch near Malhori village in Doda district in which Mumtaz Begum (36) died and her husband Mohsin Ahmad was seriously injured. Both were going home from Jammu to Kishtwar at the time of the incident. Mohsin Ahmad has been referred to Government Medical College Hospital Jammu for treatment. Police have started investigation in connection with both the incidents.
