Two girls killed, three family members injured due to LPG cylinder explosion in Kaithal

Kaithal, 4 November (Hindustan Reporter). Two girls died while three other family members were injured when an LPG cylinder exploded in a house in Guhla Cheeka under Kaithal district on Monday morning. The impact was so strong that most of the house collapsed and many neighboring houses developed cracks. As soon as the threat was made, there was a stampede among the people. Police and fire officials reached the spot and the matter is being investigated through FSL experts.

Eyewitness Baljeet Singh said that there was a big explosion around 4 in the morning, due to which the walls of many houses adjacent to them got cracked and the glasses of many houses were also broken. Due to the simultaneous explosion of two cylinders, the explosion was so severe that the roofs of the house collapsed. Ambulance and fire brigade teams arrived half an hour after the accident. By then the people nearby had taken out the injured from inside. The police also arrived after a long time and went away after noting down the names of the people injured in the accident.

All the family members injured in the accident were first taken to the government hospital in Guhla, where the doctors, seeing their critical condition, referred them to the government hospital in Patiala. While being taken to Patiala for treatment, two girls died on the way. These include 17 year old Kamal and one and a half year old Ruhi. The injured include Balwan Singh, Balwan's wife and daughter-in-law.
