Two friends who went to take bath in Budhi Gandak drowned, bodies recovered


East Champaran, 23 June (HS). Two friends who went to take bath in Budhi Gandak died by drowning. The incident took place in Budhi Gandak river of Pipra police station area, where two youths drowned while taking bath. When the NDRF divers reached the spot and found the bodies of both the youths and took them out of the river, people were surprised. Both the youths were holding each other's hands.

The deceased are Rajan Kumar, 18 year old son of Madan Ram of Kotwa village in Kotwa police station area and Narendra Kumar, 17 year old son of Awadhesh Ram of Barharwa village in Kotwa police station area.

In this case, the in-charge police station chief of Pipra police station Sita Kewat told that both the youths had come to their relative's house in Amwa village of Pipra. Meanwhile, on Saturday evening, both of them went to take bath at the ghat near Mai Sthan in Bherakhia Budhi Gandak and drowned. On receiving the information, the local police including Chakia BDO, CO reached the spot, in whose presence the NDRF team took out the bodies of both the youths from the river after a lot of hard work. The police got the bodies post-mortem done and handed them over to the family members.
