Bhopal, 16 October (HS). A two-day seminar on the latest emerging trends and technologies in the field of road and bridge construction is being organized at Rabindra Bhawan, Bhopal on 19th and 20th October. In this, experts will share their experiences and suggestions on latest technologies, materials and various aspects related to contract execution of road and bridge construction. The program will be organized in collaboration with Indian Road Congress (IRC) and Public Works Department (PWD) of Madhya Pradesh Government.
Giving information on Wednesday, Public Relations Officer Arun Sharma said that Union Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Public Works Minister Rakesh Singh and other dignitaries will be present in the inaugural session on October 19, the first day of the seminar. The inaugural session will be followed by various technical sessions in which experts from across the country will share their views on new technologies, construction materials and challenges of EPC (EPC Engineering, Procurement, Construction) contract execution.
The key discussions on the first day will focus on implementation of new technologies under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, use of new machinery in bridge construction, and new materials used in road construction. There will also be intensive brainstorming on road safety, use of IT technologies for monitoring of projects, and use of marginal materials.
The second day on 20th October will see a detailed discussion on the structure of EPC (EPC Engineering, Procurement, Construction) contracts, scheduling, role of contractors in contract execution and role of supporting engineers. In this, resolution of disputes and challenges related to contracts will also be discussed. In the concluding session, various experts and representatives will present their views on the use of new technologies in road and bridge construction through panel discussion.
The objective of the seminar is to improve the quality of road and bridge construction in the state and ensure timely and sustainable infrastructure development through latest technologies. By bringing experts from government and private sectors on one platform, experiences and innovations will be exchanged, which can give new direction and strength to the infrastructure projects of the state.
This two-day event will give new energy to the infrastructure development of Madhya Pradesh and this event will prove helpful in achieving new heights in the construction projects of the state.
