Jammu, August 31 (HS). A two-day national seminar on the topic 'Vanvil K. Ravi's creative world and Indian languages' was inaugurated under the joint aegis of the Department of Hindi and other Indian languages, Central University of Jammu and Tamil Cultural Research Center, Palakkadu, Kerala, under the guidance of Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu, Prof. Sanjeev Jain.
Famous poet, litterateur and senior advocate Vanvil K. Ravi, who was present as the chief guest in the program, said that poetry is a thing of the heart which blossoms spontaneously. It is the product of God-given natural talent. Just like a flower surrenders its fragrance to the wind after being filled with fragrance, in the same way when a poet is overwhelmed with emotions, a stream of poetry bursts out from his heart. He said that in a multilingual country like India, poetry i.e. literature has tied everyone in the thread of unity. This poetry has brought me to Jammu from faraway Tamil Nadu today. He said that during the composition of poetry, the poet becomes completely impersonal. All my creations are the product of those moments.
In his address, the Registrar of the University, Prof. Yashwant Singh, while congratulating the Hindi and other Indian Languages Department for taking the initiative of connecting North to South through such a seminar, expressed gratitude to the Tamil Cultural Research Center, Palakkadu, on behalf of the University administration. The seminar began with lighting of lamps. Saraswati Vandana and Tamil songs were presented by the students. After that, the Head of the Department and Director of the seminar, Prof. Bharat Bhushan officially welcomed everyone. During this, special honors were given to poet Vanvil K Ravi and Coordinator of Tamil Cultural Center P.S. Raja, seminar proposer Dr. Amit Kushwaha and others by presenting mementoes on behalf of the University.
