Two-day livestock fair started in RS Pura, livestock farmers reached the fair with their animals

RS Pura, March 9 (Hindustan Reporter) With the aim of promoting animal husbandry in Jammu division, a two-day livestock fair was organized on Saturday by Jammu and Kashmir Dairy Farming Association in collaboration with Animal Husbandry Department, Jammu, at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra grounds of RS Pura. In this, a large number of farmers associated with animal husbandry sector reached this two-day livestock fair with their animals.

On this occasion, District Development Council District Jammu Chairman Bharat Bhushan participated in the program as the chief guest. Apart from this, Jammu Kashmir Dairy Farm Association President Ajit Ram Chaudhary, Principal Sandeep Singh Chib, Director of Animal Husbandry Department Shubhra Sharma along with General Manager of Jammu Kashmir Bank and officials of NABARD along with other officials associated with the Animal Husbandry Department were also present. On this occasion, the chief guest also inspected the stalls set up by different companies selling food and other items related to animals. District Development Council Chairman Bharat Bhushan, who was present as the chief guest on this occasion, said that the animal husbandry farmers of the area will get to learn a lot from such livestock fair because along with the food given to the animals, information about the animals is also available. are also present who are making farmers aware about different schemes.

He said that it is a matter of concern that today our youth are staying away from farming and animal husbandry but earlier animals were seen as wealth. He said that after the BJP government came to power at the Centre, the government has started such schemes for the youth, due to which animal husbandry farmers are getting the opportunity to buy tools and animals at subsidy. He appreciated the Animal Husbandry Department and the organization for organizing the two-day fair.

Earlier, Director of Animal Husbandry Department, Dr. Shubhra Sharma expressed her views and said that the Animal Husbandry Department is continuously making efforts to promote animal husbandry and the Livestock Fair is also one of those efforts. On this occasion, Pradhan Sandeep Singh Chib said that with the aim of making the farmers living in rural areas aware about animal husbandry, this two-day livestock fair has been organized in which different companies related to animal husbandry have set up stalls for the farmers. He said that efforts will be made to organize such livestock fairs in other areas in the coming days also.
