Two communities clash over lighting lamps in Sitapur, six arrested

Sitapur, 01 November (HS). There was a dispute over lighting of lamps on the night of Diwali in Sultanpur, Imalia police station area of ​​the district. It is alleged that people from other communities opposed the lighting of the lamp and in the fight the young man who was lighting the lamp got injured. The police have registered a case and arrested six accused people from another community.

According to the complaint given by village Rohilla resident Manoj Kumar in the police station, younger brother Pankaj was lighting a lamp outside the house on the night of Diwali. Meanwhile, the neighbors Riyaz, Idrish, Haroon, Haruf, Rosali, Rihan, Khalil, Salim, Peer Mohammad, Kalim, Dunna and Qayyum came and started refusing to light the lamp. On this, brother Pankaj protested and said that since it is Diwali, the lamp will definitely be lit, saying this, all the above mentioned people beat up Pankaj and threatened to kill him if he took any further action. Younger brother Pankaj got injured in the fight. He is undergoing treatment in the hospital. Meanwhile, National President of Hindu Sher Sena Vikas met the victim's family on Friday and demanded strict action against the accused. He said that legal action will be taken against the accused by keeping the matter in the administration and government.

In the case, Imalia police station in-charge Dayashankar said on Friday that on the basis of the complaint, six accused have been arrested and further legal action is being taken. Along with this, he said that the matter is of lighting a lamp in front of someone else's house while under the influence of alcohol, currently investigation is being done. Additional Superintendent of Police Dr. Praveen Ranjan Singh said that force has been deployed in the village and peace is maintained.
