Kishanganj, 07 December (Hindustan Reporter). A police counseling center was set up in the Mahila Police Station premises on Saturday, in which eight applications were received in different cases. Both the parties were called and two cases were settled on the spot after mutual agreement. Next date of hearing was given for disposal of other cases. Complainants from far flung areas reached the counseling center set up on the instructions of Superintendent of Police Sagar Kumar to resolve minor domestic disputes and violence. The disputes were settled in the presence of Mahila Police Station Head, Co-Convenor Sunita Kumari, Relief Society Secretary Dr. Farzana Begum and member advocate Pankaj Kumar Jha. After listening to both sides, an attempt was made to reach a reconciliation.
Mahila Police Station Head Sunita Kumari said that two cases were heard on Saturday, in which most of the cases had arisen due to misunderstanding between husband and wife, which the members of the center tried to resolve. In some cases, due to non-appearance of one party, a further date was fixed, which has been directed to come again next week with solid evidence. He said that on the instructions of senior officers, Samjhauta Darbar is set up to settle domestic violence. Efforts are made to ensure that no one’s house is broken. If there is no reconciliation, different dates are given. In many cases, this also happens due to wrong rumours. Due to which dispute arises between husband and wife.
