Ahmedabad News: The stars who branded themselves on gambling apps in Bollywood are now in panic. At present, two Bollywood actresses Mallika Sherawat and Pooja Banerjee have been interrogated. The statements of both have been recorded. Both the stars have branded a betting app named Magic Win Gambling App. Due to which both the actresses are now on target.
The scope of the Enforcement Directorate’s investigation into money laundering cases related to gambling app Magic Win is increasing. ED summons Bollywood and small screen artists in Magic Win gambling app case. In this case, ED has summoned Bollywood actresses Mallika Sherawat and Pooja Benazir. ED has interrogated Pooja Benazir in this case. Actress Mallika Sherawat has responded to the summons through mail.
Actress Mallika Sherawat, 48, recorded her statement at the ED’s Ahmedabad office last week and sent her replies through e-mail, while Banerjee has given her statement before the investigating officer (IO). A case was registered against him under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
More stars may get trapped in betting app
The duo are believed to have done some promotional activities related to ‘Magicwin’ and according to sources, prima facie they are not accused in the case. The agency may soon interrogate some more actors and celebrities in this case. The ED issued a statement on Tuesday saying that the ‘launch party’ organized for the portal, which was attended by several ‘B-town celebrities’ and endorsed ‘MagicWin’, is under investigation.

These celebrities also shot videos and photos for MagicQuinn and posted them on their social media accounts to “promote” it. Advertisements were also placed through out-of-home (OOH) hoardings in various parts of India, including Gujarat and Maharashtra, the investigating agency said. The money laundering case is based on an FIR filed by the cyber crime unit of Ahmedabad Police in Gujarat.

According to , MagicQuinn is a betting website, described as a gaming portal, and is actually owned by Pakistani nationals. The investigating agency said the website is mostly operated by Indian nationals working or settled in Dubai, but the betting games featured on the website are originally played in the Philippines and other countries that do not allow betting activities.

The sports featured on the website for betting are played in the Philippines and other countries where betting is legal. The ED investigation also revealed that money invested in the game by players and bettors was diverted through shell companies and invested in cryptocurrencies. Which was encashed in Dubai. In this case, ED has so far conducted 68 search operations. According to ED officials, till now only Rs 3 crore 55 lakh has been recovered in this money laundering case.
