East Champaran, 16 May (H.I.S.). Two criminals were arrested from Salempur Math of Piprakothi police station area of the district with a country-made pistol and two live cartridges. The arrested criminals have been identified as Pradeep Kumar and Dilip Kumar, residents of Yogapatti in West Champaran district.
In this regard, SP Kantesh Kumar Mishra said that a special team was formed under the leadership of Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Sadar-2 (Piprakothi) to prevent the incident of gold chain snatching in the district and arrest the criminals involved in the incident. The team collected intelligence and took immediate action and conducted a raid and arrested two criminals with firearms and cartridges.
During interrogation, the arrested criminals told that they had carried out incidents of mobile and chain snatching not only in Motihari but also in Bettiah, Bagaha and Gopalganj districts. In this regard, a case has been registered in Piprakothi police station and further action is being taken. A country-made pistol, two live cartridges, two looted mobiles, a snatched bike and a bike used in the incident were recovered from the criminals.
In April, both of them had snatched the bike, mobile and gold chain of Narayan Kumar Singh of Bakhri. Whose FIR is registered in Piprakothi police station. Sub-divisional police officer, Sadar-2 Jitesh Kumar Pandey, Police Station Head Khalid Akhtar, Puani Nandlal Paswan, Pramukh Kumar, Rajveer, armed forces were involved in the raid.
