Two arrested in gang rape case of a student in government college, police is interrogating the accused

Patiala: An incident of gang rape of a first year BA student has come to light in a college under Sadar Nabha police station. The incident took place on March 27 at 1 pm, when apart from students, staff and principal were also present in the college.

In this case, on the complaint of the girl, Nabha police station Kotwali registered a case against Davinder Singh resident of village Kakrala and his two unknown associates on April 8 and arrested both the accused today. The arrested accused have been identified as Davinder Singh and Ravi Umar, aged around 22 years. Sadar police station in-charge Gurpreet Samrao said that two accused have been arrested and they will be presented in the court on Wednesday.

The accused took her to the room on the pretext of talking to her about something important.

According to the complainant, on March 27, she had gone to college like every day, where accused Davinder Singh came to her at 11:30 in the morning. He said that if there is any important work then come to the upper room of the principal's office. When she went to the room at around 1 pm, apart from Davinder Singh, two other unknown youths were also present there. After locking the room, these people took turns to rape her.

When she tried to scream, a man put his hand on her mouth and suppressed her voice. Despite being outsiders, how did all these accused reach inside the college and stay in the college for two hours. Police are inquiring in this regard.

The principal of the college said that the college was running on the day the incident was reported. Apart from the entire staff of the college, the students and I were also present on this occasion. No such incident came to his notice that day, but he came to know later.
