Ranchi, September 20 (HS). The court of Judicial Magistrate Abhishek Srivastava acquitted Rina Adhikari and Rajeshwar Mahato alias Nageshwar Mahato, accused in the case related to immoral trade, on Friday due to lack of evidence. During the hearing of the case, the statement of only one witness, the then SHO of Sadar police station, Saryu Anand, was recorded. The other seven witnesses could not reach the court.

Defense lawyer Jitendra Kumar said that in connection with the incident, the then Sadar DSP Satyavir Singh had lodged an FIR against six people including the above accused under Immoral Traffic Prevention Act on February 24, 2015 in Sadar police station, but when the time came to prove the incident, he did not come to the court to testify, which benefited the accused. The court adopted other procedures along with summons several times to bring the witnesses. Despite this, DSP Satyavir Singh and other police witnesses did not come to the court. They were accused of doing immoral business in an illegal manner.
