Two accused arrested for occupying land in Khunti and threatening to kill if protesting

Khunti, 11 October (Hindustan Reporter). On Friday, the police arrested Masih Charan Purti alias Masih Charan Munda and Vimal Munda alias Vimal Pahan for occupying the ancestral land of Dumardaga in Khunti police station area and threatening to kill if they protested.

In this regard, Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Khunti, Varun Rajak said that a written application was given in Khunti police station by Dinesh Badaik, resident of Siladon village of Khunti police station area, in which case was registered against Masih Charan Purti alias Masih Charan Munda and Vimal Munda alias Vimal Pahan and others. The villagers were tricked into taking over their ancestral land at Dumardaga and were threatened with death if they refused. In this context, a case was registered under relevant sections at Khunti police station and investigation was started.

During investigation, Masih Charan Purti alias Masih Charan Munda resident of Srijan village of Bandgaon police station and Vimal Munda resident of village Dumar Dumardaga were arrested. Both the accused admitted their involvement in this case during interrogation. Also, at other places, he has admitted to taking illegal money under the guise of villagers by tricking the villagers in land related works.

The team that arrested both the accused included Khunti police station sub-inspector Nitish Kumar Gupta, police sub-inspector Jitendra Kumar, constable Roshan Kumar Sharma, Bhanu Pratap Singh and Matu Tudu.
