Twenty years imprisonment for the accused of raping a minor

Jind, 9 August (HS). The court of ADJ Dr. Chandrahas on Friday sentenced the accused to 20 years of imprisonment and a fine of 22 thousand rupees for raping a minor. In case of not paying the fine, the accused will have to undergo an additional imprisonment of two years.

According to the prosecution, a woman from the city police station area had told the police in a complaint on June 21, 2023 that her 14-year-old daughter was sleeping at home last night. Neighbor Sahil called her and called her out. After which the accused took her to his house. Where he raped her daughter all night. After which the accused left her daughter and fled.

On the complaint of the woman, the city police station had registered a case against the accused Sahil under various sections including rape, kidnapping, hostage taking and arrested him. Since then the case was pending in the court. On Friday, the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Chandrahas convicted Sahil under various sections including rape and sentenced him to twenty years of imprisonment and a fine of 22 thousand rupees. If the fine is not paid, the accused will have to undergo an additional two years of imprisonment.
