Varanasi, March 04 (HS). Turmeric has come from Ayodhya, the city of Ramlala, for the marriage ceremony (Mahashivratri) of Kashipuradhipati Baba Vishwanath. In the turmeric ritual of Kashi Vishwanath, this same turmeric will be applied to his silver idol. Pt. Raghvesh Pandey, junior son of Ayodhya's Ramayani Pt. Vaidyanath Pandey, has sent special turmeric from Khandova, Maharashtra for Baba Vishwanath.
This same turmeric will be applied to Baba in the ethos of the marriage to be held at the residence of Mahant Dr. Vice Chancellor Tiwari located in Tedhineem. This is the first time in the ethos of Baba's marriage being organized by the Mahant family for more than three and a half hundred years that turmeric has been sent from Ayodhya for Baba. Earlier, on the day of Rangbhari Ekadashi, Abeer of Mathura was sent last year on the occasion of Gauna of Gaura.
Raghavesh Pandey said that it is my good fortune that I have got the opportunity to send turmeric from Ayodhya for the marriage of Kashipuradhipati Baba Vishwanath. I will continue throughout my life the work that has been started after the consecration of Shri Ram Lala in Ayodhya. Every year I will offer turmeric from Ayodhya for the marriage of Baba Kashi Vishwanath. It will be my endeavor that from next year I myself come to Kashi with turmeric for Baba.
